makes sense to me.
initial thoughts:
I was thinking of writing a neural net to work out how to do this intuitively, then realised I haven't a clue how to write one in plain C - a nightmare, I suppose...
the best way may be to break the problem into three parts - rising to the required "hovering" height, staying at that height, then falling safely. Each part can then be solved mathematically using calculus, then the solutions can be coded into the program.
thoughts, anyone? or maybe this should be posted to a different mailing list?
