Amazon has an "Honour System"[0] (let's spell it right ;) that allows
people to pay others anything from $1 upwards. The Alertbox[1] started
using it, I donated a few quid, but I wonder how people would feel about
having such a box on free software web pages?
Even the Alertbox, probably with quite a high rate of traffic has only
earned $630 at this stage so it's not a way of making a living until
people get into the idea of paying for content (micro-payments, etc).
One problem this raises is the fact that most people don't visit the web
pages of the software they use. When was the last time you visited the
Rxvt homepage?
