As far as I remember about my years in hell (i mean using windows), you
can turn this down by two ways :

1. Securing the NT Box on its own on the network side so it won't answer
queries (but too much securing might deny access to 80 ;)
2. Deleting or changing a key in the registry : but beware, that will
avoid the server to be upgraded properly on any ms product such as :
SQL/srv, IIS option pack, service pack, etc ...
