[ILUG] OT RPC / SOAP / XML / .NET and J2ee was ( RPC between Windoze and Linux )

Easy answer : no I haven't. You chould try the XML-RPC spec , there are
modules , classes etc for perl, VB , java etc.
There is an Oreilly book on the subject , but (a BIG BUT ) to me it looks
like a a tech going nowhere to be over taking by SOAP etc and a bit of an
abuse of port 80 .. (doesn't everything these days :-) )
How do the group as A linux group view SOAP and .Net etc ..? any you more
interested in the J2EE stuff or .net
I recently came across a .NET implimentation of the PetStore App (best
practice j2ee app from sun). The article claimed to be a 28 times faster
then the java version. However reading the white paper there is definatly
some questions to be asked (eg the changed the DB and moved the SQL to
stored procs) and also used a lot of caching , but it made for interesting
reading all the same
What does everyone think ?
