[ILUG] Linux Answering Machine

I am looking for a system which will run on linux and answer phones.  It should allow a caller to go through a number of menus or just leave a message.  Also the menu options that a user hears may change from time to time.  The Linux Doc Project a HOWTO on VoIP (Voise over IP) which is not really what I want.  I found some suggestions on various news gropus 

mgetty+fax 
spk
USR Sportster voice 56K X2

but there wasn't any commentry from people who had experience using these.  Has anyone used any of these systems or any others or can anyone point me to a HOWTO on the subject.
