[ILUG] nasty xmodmap..or something

You're lucky you only lost Xmodmap. I've no X whatsoever at the moment.
Doesn't even get as far as logging anything.

Anyway, do you have a .Xkbmap or is there one in /etc/X11/xinit (or whatever)?
xinit won't read Xmodmap if it's already found an Xkbmap.
