When Rusty Russell was over here last time, I was asking a few questions
about NAT & netfilter. Apparently, he's working on ways of making NAT
unnessary for as many people as possible for the 2.6 kernel, making heavy
use of "transparent application proxies". This scares me, but if he
reckons it's a better idea than NAT (and after spending three days last
week looking over the shoulder of someone trying to find out why one
connection in ten thousand was causing a kernel panic when running IPVS
and netfilter on the one box, because of the way TCP works, I'd tend to
agree).
