I've never noticed it. Anybody else?
Of course, since an ssl cert  Costs Money  it wouldn't seem
unreasonable to waste an IP address along with that.
 ... signed by an authority with a cert in most browsers.
 Thawte charge about $100/yr, IIRC...?
