Not sure if you're still listening; you seem to have written me off as
an irredeemable cynic, despite the fact that I'd offered several valid
alternatives to the IO blackout, some of which you say are already in
motion. Anyway.

...except that the local representative links wind up at /pictures/ of
the reps with no actual contact details. This is what I mean by
handfeeding people the things they need to complain directly. Note
that I had to click through several places to even get that far; this
information should be linked directly from the IO website. Grab a copy
of mapedit and a gif of Ireland, make an image map ('I live HERE, who
is my TD?') that links to the relevant section of the government
site.

I can't seem to browse the forum (linked from the IO front page):
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=60 gives me
"The system cannot find the file specified."

Your earlier mail was misinformed, too. I had, in fact, read the press
release. You might want to lose the line that reads "You do remember
how to write letters, don't you? :)". You might also want to consider
that a website dedicated to fixing a low-bandwidth problem should
probably have a less graphics-heavy front page, although I guess that
should be directed at Mr. O'Keefe.
You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I disagree with IO's
aims. I don't - I'm not exactly happy with the state of the telecoms
industry here either. I'm simply trying to politely explain to you why
I think the blackout is a waste of time and resources that could be
better spent elsewhere. And I'm commenting, rather than taking up my
own campaign on this, in the hope that perhaps you'll use those
resources in the right direction.
Cheers,
Waider.
