Hmmmm... I have compact flash reader as well, and happened to get it working
in Linux by mistake!

When I was trying to setup my cd-writer, I needed to use the SCSI drivers
for the cd-rom drive. When I get everything configured for SCSI and had a
look what devices I had... there is was! compact flash removable drive. Mind
you I was too stuck into the CD writing that I didn't actually check to see
if it worked, but I know they're fairly simple devices in reality, so once
you get that far, you should be fine.
