[ILUG] 2 Questions, new kernel problem & X fixed font problem

Yes it very annoying when that happens. You kernel build failed somewhere.
go back to the previous one and do it again. 

I remeber trying the init 3 and 5 aswell  some time ago only to realise that
that was not what they were looking for. 
Anyone know what these init options actually should be?

Now the the 2.4.10 compile went fine, but when I booted into it, it had a
wee
kernel panic, and told me to try and pass the 'init=' option to the
kernel...?

Is it asking me to tell it what runlevel to go into or wha? 
I rebooted and tried passing 'boot: 2.4.10 -init 3 (and 5) ', but to no
avail?

Is it possibly a problem with ext3 that I selected as the default fs for the

new
install.
