Thanks Fergal, this sounds like the perfect explanation to me.

"make them think they are getting something new and innovative....
 market it well and charge them for the upgrade"

I wonder where ACC learned that...

Sounds like some other large companies we know.
(Actually sounds like EVERY large company I know)
