[ILUG] NIS - Server is Linux, Client is Solaris

remove MD5 passwords on the server... try again.. make sure the passwd
entrys are 13 chars long...

if that doesn't work remove shadow passwords on the Linux side (pwconv is
your friend) try again..

we've hit this problem recently we got a Sun machine to put into our Linux
network.. all our users (500 or so) have passwords in MD5 style and
shadow... currently we just use ssh keys to allow users in , but as we
also have smbpasswds per user we might use them to authenticate the Sun
for now ..

in future plan is to get that whole LDAP stuff going ....
