How will this help?
Do you mean to remove all the user passwords, and get them to generate new ones?
If so, will I get a similar problem logging into Linux Clients?
Passwd entries are indeed 13 characters.

All passwords are in shadow, I merge them before exporting the passwd file with NIS.
Makefile contains
MERGE_PASSWD=true
Some extra info (should probably have included from the start).
Running SuSE Linux 7.1
I export passwd group hosts via ypserv. Am I missing something?
As far as I know the server is using PAM for authentication. Should I disable this maybe?
