Excellent book - first O'Reilly book I ever had and it really was the
business. A little dated (long before NFS v3, for instance) but mostly still
relevant. 

One gotcha which was mentioned here quite recently AFAIR is password
encryption - many current Linux distros use MD5 or other password schemes
which allow for passwords longer than 8 character, greater security, and
NIS/NFS interworking problems :-( You can downgrade to old style crypt'ed
passwords though.
