Fair point I suppose.  I'm not sure how much of it is "an egregious
invasion of privacy" in a legal sense though.  I suspect if you're in work,
on their PC, using their internet connection, then they're entitled to know
what you're doing with their resources.

I must point out that I *don't* like or condone this sort of spying.  A
friend of a friend I heard recently was moreorless shown the door for
something which they wrote to a friend in an email bitchin' about work.  
Personally, I thought it naive to use a company email account for personal 
use and expect to have total privacy, but I still thought it wrong of the
company.

The point that perhaps by answering we're encouraging this is valid, though
I suspect google would have quickly given the same result, which yields another
issue entirely in itself!
