[ILUG] Build your own MP3 player?

Some hi-fi audio amplifiers have built in fans....
I remember a quite highly rated Technics (A-900 or something?) Amp
that would turn on an internal fan when it got too warm.
I presume not all fans are as noisy as the cheapy ones in most pcs.

Alternativly, I've also seen articles on the web of people that 
cool their pc's with liquid cooling mechanisms. Sounds messy though.

19" rackmount stuff is 17" without the ears. So once you remove the rack
mounting bits you should be fine. 

My big grip about building such a system is the fact that you would have
to put fans in it.

Fans are noisy
