I think in fairness for people who have used windows for important work
previously, don't get rid of it straight away. You may need to do
somethign ASAP and in that case it might take 5 minutes on windows but
hours on linux (because you've never doen it before). Keep windows
dual-booting until you're very comfortable with linux.
For example, if you get sent an excel document, how will you open it?
Setting up Wine is not a trivial task by all accounts (I havn't done it
myself) and I know of no linux prog which will open *.xls.
