Good idea Dave. 

I recently dropped a keyboard/mouse/monitor switchbox directly onto my
quake3 for linux CD, putting a hole in it
 :(

Q: I also own the doze version of same game, which fortnately does not
have a hole in. Are there binaries for linux that I can download and
make a new CD of q3? Or do I have to sit it into my massive pile of cd's
that will - one day - be sent back for replacement - and in reality
never will. 

Links to the patches/binaries would also be nice if at all possible.

If you do buy the windows version of any game to use with the linux
version,
it's worth emailing the publishers and developers to let them know -
they do
take notice of these things.
