[ILUG] Perl 5.6.0->5.6.1

I was writing a couple of simple perl utility scripts
which depended on a number of popular modules.
Abandoning my fear of anything not ending with a
.tar.gz suffix I decided to use the CPAN module.
Unfortunately, it decided to upgrade my 5.6.0
installation to 5.6.1 and now @INC point to the wrong
directories (i.e @INC is looking for modules in 5.6.1
dirs when they are in 5.6.0 dirs). I don't want to
change @INC at the start of every script and its just
too much hassle adding a load of symlinks for
previously installed modules (plus installing new
modules is turning ou to be a pain).

Is there some sort of PERL5LIB environmet variable I
can change to fix this?
