What ManufacturerID and DeviceID are reported in /proc/usb/* for the ADI ...
is it possible it's a rebadged something else ?
Try googling for those ID's and see what you get :o)
(Worked for my webcam !)

Kate, is the Canon compatible with it's siblings ? (Quick source patch ?)
