If you'd like to be able to run X not in a window, or VNC doesn't give 
you a gooey feeling inside, then Reflection X (IIRC) is very good. You 
have to pay though. eXceed was another one I played with. starnet have 
another one called XWin32. Most of them have demo versions you can play 
with and check out. It's great fun to mix and match the Windows desktop, 
with Gnome, and then have VNC/remote control software too to have 3 
graphical desktops running simultaneously :)

Another free way is to use Cygwin and there's a windows based X11 server 
for that.

Don't use the MI/X server, it doesn't support the SHM extension, and is 
generally naff.
