[ILUG] Modem problems with SuSE 7.2

Hi,

I think what you have is a "Winmodem" which means it needs specially written 
software to make it work.  Windows will have the software already, so that's 
why it is working there.  The problem is, Linux support for winmodems is a 
recent development and not all winmodem chipsets are supported on Linux.

To cut a long story short, (you said) SuSE supports your modem, and my guess 
from the device names you mentioned is that it's ttyAcm0.  So you meed to set 
your modem to /dev/ttyAcm0, try that and if it doesn't work you can try the 
other ttyAcm's.
