Well, if you're using steganography to pass information to others in image
file, where those other others are expecting to receive information in that
way, then you're fine, though as many others have pointed out, using text
messages with a decent crypt system is probably a much more convenient means
of so doing. Of course if you're a citizen of France, which makes use of
crypto by its citizens illegal, or of some other major Western democracy
which may do so in the future, then you might of course want to send crypto
messages via steganography so that eavesdroppers don't know that you're
doing illegal things.

If OTOH you want to use steganography to embed copyright information, you
should be aware that it is not bulletproof.
