[ILUG] hard disk imaging

What brand of hard drive do you have?  Is it new?  Sometimes hard 
drive vendors provide disk migration tools either on floppy, cd rom, 
or available for download.  Have you checked the vendor's web site 
for such a tool?  Maxtor used to have an adequate boot-floppy based 
tool.
