I've been working in the Centre for Learning Technology in Trinity for the
past few months... I haven't had to deal with the above solutions too
much, but I have used them a bit.
Various other people in the office agree that WebCT was pretty awful up until
the latest release. It seems to be a lot quicker now. A number of
departments in college without a huge amount of support.
Blackboard is obscenely expensive, has a very confusing interface and can
be a little overwhelming in terms of the number of features it throws at
you. From what I've gathered, once you have gotten past the above
problems, it's pretty good.
Topclass was used a while back as well, but that was before I worked here.
It was used in one of our courses in second year, and from an end user
perspective, it seemed pretty good.
eCollege has a good reputation but again, is quite expensive.
