Ok, this is bugging me.
I've two problems.
I want to find out what table etc. is using loads of space in a postgres
DB. I want to find out why.
I've a database that is 30k when dumped as plaintext. It's taking about
170MB of space on disk. Mr Jakma suggested running "vacuum" on the
databases, but that didn't seem to change the size used up on disk. Nor
did restarting the DB.
Files like;
[root host1]# cd /var/lib/pgsql/data/base/dbname/ && ls *
-rw------- 1 postgres postgres 63127552 Apr 26 17:23 pg_attribute
-rw------- 1 postgres postgres 58540032 Apr 25 17:53 pg_attribute_relid_attnam_index
-rw------- 1 postgres postgres 24248320 Apr 25 17:53 pg_attribute_relid_attnum_index
For instance. Again, this is a 30k database. What's the story ?
