[ILUG] toggling keyboard maps in RH8.0

I have a Japanese keyboard chosen as the default. I want to setup my
RH8.0 box to be able to choose from Japanese or Danish Keyboard maps. 
At the moment I can do this by choosing system settings > Keyboard from
the menu and this works ok, but if possible I'd like to be able to
toggle between keyboard maps.  This will allow me to write documents in
both languages a lot quicker.  Any ideas?
