I used do the same, but after awhile your address gets into the hands of
too many
spammers or so it seems - nowadays reporting each spam i get is way too
much hassle
for what its worth, i use a procmail simple procmail filter which dumps all
mail
sent to me which does not have one of my addresses (or lists i'm subscribed
to) in
its To: or Cc: lines... For safety i also allow through mail on which the
From: header
contains domains which i may receive BCC'd mail or on domains which i
regularly get
mail from (i.e. iol/esatclear/indigo/eircom etc.) - It works extremely
well....
But to answer your question i'd opt not to notify the sender the mail was
filtered/dumped/whatever.
