I'm not really the sys admin here, so was trying to keep time spent on this
to a minimum.

HotSaNIC looks the right direction to go in. Or I might spend some time
playing with rrdtool if I get bored.

Hmmm... rrdworld does have other interesting bits n'pieces there.... oh
well, so much for work

Then again, if you've got a good SNMP agent available on the machine,
you can just poll it from which ever device is doing your graphing.
