A good few months ago I thought about making some rescue cd's / floppies to rescue an NT server with Read/Write support for NTFS in the linux kernel.
Alas it was not to be due to severe corruption "risks"
If it was my setup, I'd nuke XP, install linux on half the drive, and if you must, install XP on the other. Fips wont resize NTFS as Rick has already pointed out.
I was very disapointed when heard it was not safe.
Smell ya later,

Bought the father Mandrake 8.1 as he would only use something if it was bought (probably just doesn't want to set a "bad example") anyhow, the diskdrake does not seem able to resize the XP ntfs partition the father has and checking it out I was fairly sure that was because the diskdrake and fips it would seem could not write to a ntfs file system and thus could not resize it. Plus running 2.4.16 my own 2k and xp partitions only seem to have read only support so, I am assuming that is because the kernel does not support r/w rather than my not having used mount options x &/or y but I could be wrong.
