[ILUG] pdf document info, ls date format and awk commands

 Checkout the date manpage. Loads of info on how to use + and % to make
life easy for you.

 Only thing I can think of is to get the source to xpdf, and write a
program to do it.

 About the way you are...though seeing as it's a web page, I'd have used
PHP myself..
