Hi Stephen,

Myself and a few others are also testing in Limerick/Clare area.
Two of our members have a 4.5KM link between Bunratty and Cratloe.
We are using old Analog MMDS antennas to link to each other....

If you (or anyone else) needs help in actually getting hardware in the
Limerick/Clare region, please contact me off-list.

regards,
Dave

Subject: [ILUG] OT - wireless LAN

So, the trials began yesterday. Myself and two friends of mine are
attempting to put together a wireless LAN between three flats in reasonably
close proximity (a car park between). We got a ping between the three using
cards and a waystation hub type thing. The connection got weak and such as
the systems were moved away from the windows. So the question really is are
there wireless cards (for desktops) with detachable antenna, or external
cards with long leads, would three hubs provide a stronger connection, i.e.
hub to hub rather than card to hub to card, any other suggestions, anyone
around Limerick wanna start Ireland's biggest wireless LAN with us ?
