It should, what works for 95 usually works for 98 though not always the
other way round. the easier option, however, is to merge the
Win98_PlainPassword.reg as shipped with samba.
as an aside, it's also well worth looking at the other bits & pieces
found in your samba docs directory as there's a mountain of stuff which
seems to explain & provide fixes for a fair few windoze "features".
