A couple of years ago I rang Eircom specifically about this.  They said
moreorless the above, with onesmall but important change.  They said that
1891 was charged by the minute, so although the price was still the same,
your last unit used wasn't necessrily a full one.

Over a few hours surfing this makes shag all difference, but if you connect
regularly for a quick mail check it can have quite an effect, diald etc
would be made quite a bit cheaper.
