Sorry, Mike, sent the last reply straight to you - fscking web-based mail
client.

Anyway, to inform the list, I have the same problem on CDE on Solaris at work, the 
bottom buffer refers to an error with a font. I have never fixed it but believe
it to be a problem with one of the modes I have installed. Ctrl-X 1 has become a habit.
