[ILUG] Install Party in Dublin ?

Ah that sounds more like it - thats more like a day course
in Linux basics than an install party.
I do think the title "Install Party" can be a bit misleading -
it also gives the impression that Linux is really difficult.
I just wince at the thought of Linux having to make excuses
for being different to windows - you know what i mean?
I certainly would be all for Linux promotion and helping
out new users etc - i just think we should approach it a different
way - do you agree?
As you mention - I'd probably put a lot of emphasis on training
and presentations..

Maybe but you didn't get the point here. This kind of event is not only
about installations and kiss the user goodbye. It's also about helping
out first time users with normal admin stuff such as : kernel, modules,
upgrading, making their system secure, discovering some advanced shell
commands.
But also, puting in place some presentations about the free alternatives
to linux in order to replace : office, games, devel applications, show
linux's potential.
I'm surprised to see that kind of reaction.
