you should use a program called ssh to do that. Basically it allows you to
control remote computers from your console as though you were logged
straight into them.
Ssh is not usually run from xinetd however as it is preferable to have it
run as a daemon (ie all the time) much like a webserver.

What is used to travel to other computers within a network to activate
commands and conduct maintenance/modifications?  Actually going to the
location of the downed computer is time consuming.
