It is. The settings on the PnP page of my Bios are:
PnP OS Installed: NO
Resources Controlled by: Manual
Reset Configuration Data: Disabled
IRQ's;
3 PCI/ISA PnP
4 PCI/ISA PnP
5 Legacy ISA
7 PCI/ISA PnP
9 Legacy ISA
10 PCI/ISA PnP
11 PCI/ISA PnP
12 PCI/ISA PnP
14 PCI/ISA PnP
15 PCI/ISA PnP
DMA's;
0 Legacy ISA
1 Legacy ISA
3 Legacy ISA
5 PCI/ISA PnP
6 PCI/ISA PnP
7 PCI/ISA PnP
Used MEM base addr: N/A
Assign IRQ for USB: Enabled
The three IRQ's and DMA's set to legacy were to allow my Crystal sound card
and USB port to play nicely together.
So, I ask again, why won't the 2.4.16 kernel use my network card when the
2.2.20 kernel does with the same Bios settings?
I gave up Windows because I hate dual-booting, but right now, that's the only
way I can access the Internet AND my DVD. Boot 2.2.20 for Internet access and
re-boot 2.4.16 for DVD access : (
I'll worry about why my 32M GVX1 card runs tuxracer so slooooow later. At
least KDE loads in decent time now.
Cheers,
John Gay
