It's a nice idea, but the problem is that sftp actually has nothing to do
with ftp. It's only called sftp because the standard client provides an
interface that looks a bit like ftp; the actual protocol has nothing to do
with the hairy grotesqueness that is ftp. It's not just a matter of
wrapping SSL around the old ftp protocol.
