The rest of the mail's lost on me I'm afraid - what's an IPVS?
How do I connect it to a cable modem (which is basically acting
as a carrier, and nothing else - locally everything's done via
ethernet)? And then how do I find out about ipvsadm? (OK - I can
answer the third one - Google and LDP are my friends).

Thanks for the suggestion, even if it was over my head...
