[ILUG] Shutdown problem: INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

Dear group,

I recently installed RH7.2 on three computers:
- single P300, IDE
- dual P400, scsi,
- dual P800, scsi

I face the same problem on each:

the shutdown -h now kills a few processes then,
hang forever; the file system is not unmounted and
the following message make me nervous:

INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

I never had this problem before when we were runin g RH6.1;
is the any way to shutdown cleanly ??
