Still available on your local Linux box, and much as I spit on its
descendant, vi, a basic mastery of ed is important for the would-be guru -
on many Unix variants, it'll be all the editor you have in single user or
maintenance mode.

vi was also written by Bill Joy - of course like any sensible person, he's
