anyway, the union mount issue comes up from time to time. *bsd has it,
linux doesn't yet. it seems to me that it might be a nice thing to add.
it does solve some problems very neatly. mounting the source from cd,
providing a dir for a union mount and then doing a cvs up is a pretty
bandwidth friendly way to keep a bsd system up to date.
another neat use would be if esat started selling its mirrors on dvd and
then you could rsync the tree based off the dvd.
