[ILUG] Recommended Desktop Distros?

Hi.

I might soon have to set up a machine for a person doing some secretarial
work for people, and I'm toying with the idea of running a desktop friendly
distro on it. The new Suse 8.1 got a glowing review from the Register
recently, as did Xandros. Has anyone here used any of these, and what can
they recommend. The application of the machine will be just be MS Office
type work, and my own experience of OpenOffice leaves me pretty confident
that it can fill that gap. The largest problem might just be peripheral
compatibility - printers and such, which would be a major deciding factor.

I'd be handling the installation and set-up, so that wouldn't be as much of
a issue.

Thoughts would be much appreciated.
