Indeed - I can't get over the shock its giving people, not just having
their questions answered, but mainly in the affirmative.
Anyway to keep this entirely off-topic thread on-topic, for anyone who's
interested I finally found this from Malcolm Thompson (UTV Internet Ops
Manager):
"The UTVip package is an off-peak service and our billing software will
bill from 8am at the peak rate for all calls including those that cross
from the off-peak to the peak bands."
This apparently doesn't happen the other way - calls initiated before
6pm will not revert to off-peak rates (i.e. free) at the strike of 6.
However, UTV were talking of automatically disconnecting users at 6pm
'to preserve goodwill and avoid excessive bills' - so they certainly
aren't Eircon then.
Don't know if this is actually happening - will test it later.

>off as a fad or possibly the result of drug abuse.
Can't think of any drugs strong enough to change Eircon's habitual and
complete disregard (sorry, meant to say righteous capitalist
exploitation) of us. I have to favour the parallel Universe explanation.
