These are unfortunately related to the fact that VMware still supports
GCC 2.9x and they didn't provide proper modules support for GCC 3.x.
Still, i have been running a Mandrake 8.2 with GCC 3.2 since without a
single problem and VMware 3.1.1 is running on my box without issues.

Problem with VMware is that they provide limited sources and they keep
all their internal stuff closed-source, it makes it difficult to change
anything but that is definitly related to GCC deprecations.
