If, on the other hand, he literally means the HOWTO documents from the
Linux Documentation Project, most distributions include those in
packages devoted to that purpose.  He may or may not have installed
those packages.  If he _did_ install them, they may be under /usr/doc or
/usr/share/doc.  

If he didn't install them, and can't find relevant packages in your
distribution media, he can get them in various formats, here:
