problem 1:
to the best of my knowledge, you have no training in law. and i'm not
being snide - neither do i! that's my problem. every few weeks i read
yet another stupid legal decision regarding the net that defies common
sense. i can't fathom how such email disclaimers could be enforced when
sent to a mailing list, but that assessment is based on common sense,
not law.
problem 2:

since people sending messages to the list do not need to subscribe, they
won't be warned with the welcome or monthly mails. if there was some
sort of s/w that caught the mail first and sent out such a warning then i
guess that would be ok. seems kind of shrink-wrap-license like, though.
but then they're legal (see, makes no sense).
and yes, i know i'm being a pest about this. however i keep seeing
these email disclaimers on this list. either they are enforcable and a
possible liability to the ilug and the members of ilug, or they are not
enforcable and therefore both a rude waste of bandwidth of a voluntary
organisation and a threatening manner to interact with the members of
that organisation. imho, neither sentiment belongs on this list.
