Hi All,
Can anyone see a problem with intels e1000 and switch fault tolerance?
Can I setup SFT with two network switches with one e1000 connected to one
and the other to, well the other switch?
I am running around looking for a second gigaswitch at the moment [bloody
bank-holidays] but I heard a rumour that its not supported in this config?
[but that it works in doze]
AFT [adaptive fault tolerance] is supported but with both nics connected to
one switch, but when the switch goes down, well I ain't got no more
tolerance
What I was thinking was :--
1. setup AFT, i.e.: two NICS without an ipaddress and a virtual nic with the
ip.
2. Instead of connecting to one switch, simply have each physical nic
connect to one switch each, and have a switch-switch connection going on.
I don't see why that wouldn't work.
Off to do some googling now.
